Bread Lame (Ash)
An indispensable tool in the sourdough process that gives your breads beautiful oven spring and patterns.
The bread lames are developed and handmade by carpenter and skilled woodworker, Jan Andersen. Each knife is unique and made of sustainable wood of danish forestry.
When the sharp razor blade is not in use, it is easy to hide away, by opening and locking the concealer function in the wood, thus reducing the risk of cutting. Be careful though!
Maintenance and instructions for your new bread lame
All bread lames are made of untreated wood. Therefore, you can advantageously prolong life of your bread lame with a bit of neutral cooking oil. The color will then turn a bit darker and structure of the wood will appear.
Replace the razor blade when it is worn out. The same blade can be used up to four times.
Never soak the lame in water or put it in the dishwasher.
Please note: THIS IS NOT A TOY! Keep away from children. The blade is very sharp and should not be near children or people who can not handle the tool.
