Maintenance

BEFORE USE: Wipe the steel with a dry cloth to remove any production dust. Then wipe over with a little water to remove the last. Take a new, dry cloth and apply a little taste-neutral oil, which is spread in a thin layer on both sides of the baking sheet. Now bake your steel without anything else in the oven at approx. 200 degrees for 1 hour - it can both smoke and smell, but will smoke less with e.g. sunflower oil. This is to optimize the subsequent heat absorption and for a natural rust protection. The steel will appear darker and darker with each baking, which is completely natural.

DAILY MAINTENANCE: Your baking sheet will not be damaged by being left in the oven for daily use. If rust occurs, this can be brushed off with a coarse brush with a little soap and water. For coarser dirt or larger stains, steel sponge can be used. It is important to wipe the steel off after cleaning so that it is completely dry. You can advantageously give it new oil and prepare it as above at high heat.

Shipping

Due to the weight, the baking steel can not be delivered directly to the door, but to the nearest parcel shop. Small scratches from handling may occur which are impossible to avoid. It has no effect on the function.
